This workshop provides an overview of health literacy principles as they relate to writing. There will be a hands-on portion, so participants should bring a communication piece (brochure, patient education handout, program flyer, etc.) that they can review and edit during the workshop.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define health literacy and understand why it is important.
- Apply Plain Language principles to their communications.
- Apply tips and techniques for creating materials that reach a wide range of literacy levels.
